This project involved designing and constructing a new custom wall along the street slope at Wellworth Ave, Los Angeles. The wall was complemented with a custom iron fence and gates to enhance security, curb appeal, and overall aesthetics of the property.

The scope of work included:

Custom Sloped Wall with Smooth Stucco and Iron Fences

During the planning and construction of the custom wall along the sloped frontage of 10510 Wellworth Ave, our team first conducted a detailed site assessment to understand the grade of the street slope and underlying soil conditions. We determined the optimal footing depth and stepped trench profile, which allowed us to follow the natural incline while maintaining structural stability. This phase also included permitting and zoning checks, ensuring compliance with Los Angeles building codes and architectural guidelines for stucco and wrought iron wall/fence construction. Once the plan was finalized, we excavated and prepared a compacted gravel base, installed rebar reinforcement where needed, and built the wall in sections—taking care to manage drainage properly by installing backfill and smart weep-drain systems to avoid hydrostatic pressure behind the wall.

For the smooth stucco finish, we first attached a metal lath over the framed wall substrate, followed by multiple layers of cement-based stucco for durability and a clean, modern look. As the stucco cured, our fabricators were already working in parallel on the custom iron fence and gate components. Once the wall was fully cured and structurally secure, iron fence posts were embedded into concrete footings, using precise leveling and alignment techniques. Panels were installed carefully, stepping seamlessly with the slope by adjusting post heights and spacing, using continuous or “stepped” post methods depending on grade. Decorative gates were hung only after the posts had fully set, ensuring smooth operation and long-term stability. Throughout the process, we maintained clear communication with the client, providing 3D design updates, progress photos, and quality inspections at key milestones.

Once the stucco cured, we set the iron posts in concrete footings with precise leveling techniques, allowing the fence to step naturally with the slope of the street. The fence panels and decorative gates were installed only after the posts fully set, guaranteeing smooth operation, proper alignment, and long-lasting structural performance. Throughout the project, we provided the homeowner with regular updates, progress photos, and clear communication to ensure a smooth and transparent installation process from start to finish.
